Priming plastics to perform

Plastic materials are well known for their poor wetability. To improve this and therefore adhesion, various physical treatments, such as flame, corona and plasma, are applied on the substrate surface, with the ultimate effect of introducing polar groups and enhancing surface energy.

However, these treatments are not stable and the resulting surface modification is uneven, showing variations during printing or coating processes.
