Sales and the 'Talent Magnet'

A lot is written about being a ‘Talent Magnet’, either as a company, or as President. It’s all good practice – listen, mentor, reward, provide clear goals and career maps. Good practice for the employer, but what about the employee?

White Young Green’s international subsidiary, WYG International, is a leading European social and economic development consultancy. Our work is to catalyze and support change in societies – changes that create wealth through economic reform, that improve the quality of life of the poorest and most marginalised, and that deepen democracy and the rule of law.

WYG International’s activities started in the late 1980s in response to the new opportunities and needs arising in Central and Eastern European countries. Working for national governments and the major development agencies, our first projects were concerned with economic reform. This focus quickly widened to address the range of concerns that arise in building modern democracies. Our geographic focus widened in parallel.

We have grown to become one of the largest and well known of European companies addressing these issues of societal transformation. We bring leading edge EU and international expertise but have always recognised the importance of the local environment. This is reflected today in our organisation which is built upon a number of geographic business areas generally represented by wholly owned but self managing subsidiary companies.

The process of diversifying WYG International to include the high level project management and delivery of more technically focused infrastructure and environmental projects gathered further pace in 2006. We are now actively engaged on technical projects covering subjects such as transport planning, solid waste management, water and wastewater, building conservation, building structures and utility pipelines.

Business Excellence

WYG operates in accordance with a Business Excellence Model which has seven key values: Teamwork, Integrity, Adaptability, Innovation, Quality, Client Focus and Caring. These values govern every aspect of how WYG conducts its business. We undertake constant performance measurement to ensure that these values are upheld. The success of the business, which has grown by 200% in the last 6 years, could not have been achieved without a high level of satisfaction with the services which we provide. Our feedback from clients supports this view.

Sustainability Bureau

Our Sustainability Bureau has been established to provide White Young Green’s clients with a single point of contact for the full range of our sustainability related services. These multi-disciplinary services cover a wide range of the social, economic and environmental issues that form part of the sustainability agenda.

The Sustainability Bureau allows White Young Green to provide a co-ordinated, in-house set of skills to enable our clients to optimise the sustainability performance of their projects and operations.

We believe that the Sustainability Bureau presents a distinctive service to clients – others may offer some of the sustainability skills, but White Young Green has co-ordinated these into a format that is easy to access and which provides tailored solutions.
